Newmont Mining Corp (NYSE:NEM) and Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) have been preferred as Citigroup opened the book on a number of precious metal producers.
Both stocks were given ‘buy’ ratings with Newmont assigned a US$51 target (current price: ) and Barrick’s set at US$29 a share (current: ).
Kinross Gold (NYSE:KGC), GoldCorp (LON:GG), and Silver Standard Resources (NASDAQ:SSRI) were each marked up as ‘hold’.
Having been slapped, losing a third of its value, on Monday Keyx Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:KERX) was on the end of a downgrade this morning with FBR & Co which removed its previous ‘outperform’ rating and replaced it with ‘market perform’.
The Kroger Co (NYSE:KR) was also off the boil, with BMO Capital moving to ‘market perform’ from ‘outperform’.
Stifel was upbeat about Home Depot Inc (LON:HD) as it started its coverage of the retail with a ‘buy’ and highlighted a positive backdrop in the home improvement market.
