• Ascent Resources (LON:AST – 0.60p) – Next Phase?: While the operational update doesn't really tell us much more than we knew already, what it does tell us is how motivated management is to drive the Company forwards, and that, in our opinion, given everything else that the Company is facing, is the most significant news that can be delivered. We believe that the project is underrated by the market, and given the fact that we are talking of an administrative process, opposed to subsurface risk, that it is valued so lowly is curious. Still, the management team can rightly be proud of what they have achieved, we just hope that they are able to profit from the investment they have made before a third party acquires the Company from under them.
• Jupiter Energy (LON:JPRL – 10p/A$0.25) – Extensions Bring Stability: news that the service agreements keeping Messers Gander and Mison in place bring stability to a company whose current predicament is delicate to say the least, especially after the departure of Alastair Beardsall. While not immediately changing the outlook, had their services not been secured, the Company would have, in our opinion, imploded and investors been without a motive force to navigate the Company through what is a difficult time.
