Shard Market Eye: Rosslyn Data Technologies

Shard Capital has been keeping an eye on developments at Rosslyn Data Technologies PLC (LON:RDT) since they joined the AIM approximately 2 years ago when they floated at 33p.

Rosslyn is a leader in cloud-based data analytics. They have developed a cost effective, scalable, cloud based solution versus traditional on premise, slow and expensive solutions. Their platform RAPid enables companies to simply collect, cleanse, enrich and analyse data from numerous sources.

Rosslyn appear to be progressing towards breakeven as evidenced in by their Half Year results announced in January 2016. News has been light since then and as yet the story does not appear to be appreciated by investors with the shares opening at a mid-price of 10p on Monday 18th April.

The Times article this morning could well reignite interest ahead of the next set of figures from the company. The article comments that Rosslyn looks like being the latest British technology company to slip into American hands. They suggest Microsoft as the most likely buyer having “indicated an interest in buying the company and advancing it to its next phase of development, with sales of potentially as much as £50 million a year.”

With the article indicating that other clients of Rosslyn’s may also be interested there looks to be interesting times ahead. Shard looks forward to the company’s full year results.
