Centamin (LON:CEY) has released strong Q1 2016 production results. Gold production is up 16% YoY and 7% QoQ to 125koz. The strong result was due to a 4% increase in plant throughput to 2,876kt which is above the target run rate of 11mtpa.
Although further operating details are yet to be released, the headline numbers indicate an improvement average recovered grade. Full year guidance is unchanged at 470koz, which appears achievable.
