Twenty Seven Co assays highlight VMS-style gold and copper potential at Rover

The company’s geology team has completed a field trip, collecting rock-chips and taking soil samples in an area between the Creasy 1 and 2 prospects.

Twenty Seven Co Ltd (ASX:TSC) has received encouraging assays indicating volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) style gold and copper potential at the Rover project near Leonora in WA.

A recent mapping and sampling program produced the results that highlight VMS-style mineralisation and extended gold anomalism between the Creasy 1 and 2 gold prospects.

The Rover project is in the underexplored Central Region of WA, which is undergoing a resurgence in exploration.

Recent discoveries highlight prospectivity for gold and VMS-style mineralisation including:

  • Assays of up to 5 metres at 9.8% copper, 3.2 g/t gold, 34 g/t silver and 3.2% zinc by Cobre Pty Ltd; and
  • High-grade gold intersections including 9 metres at 24 g/t gold by Spectrum Ltd (ASX:SPX) at its Penny West Gold Project.

Twenty Seven chief executive officer: “The assay results from the recent field trip are highly encouraging as they extend gold anomalism between Creasy 1 and 2 by 1.4 kilometres along the 12-kilometre gold strike.

“Of more significance is the potential for copper-gold VMS style mineralisation with the Rover project, given verifiable similarities in the underlying geology to Cobre’s tenure 20 kilometres south.

“These fundamental findings, which give the Rover project significant exploration upside, are timely as interest in the region’s prospectivity is increasing.”

The Creasy 1 gold target is in TSC’s northern extended area and consists of an extensive zone of subtle gold in regional historical soil anomalism coincident with the Illara fault that is NNW trending and mineralisation is open to the north and south.

The best sample recording includes 740ppm copper, 3,870ppm lead, 2,850ppm zinc and 11ppb gold with the copper anomalism associated with fine to medium grained metamorphosed mafic rocks of the Maynard Hills greenstone belt.

The fault extends from the Creasy 1 gold prospect along a 12-kilometre gold strike in a south-easterly direction onto TSC’s granted tenement.

In the early 2000s, drilling by Western Australia based Mindax Limited intersected gold mineralisation at the Creasy 1 target over 1,200 metres along strike, with six holes intersecting up to 3 metres at 1.94 g/t from 53 metres.

TSC’s immediate focus is a field trip in mid-August which will focus on assessing Rover’s VMS mineralisation potential and gold potential along the 12-kilometre strike around the Creasy 1 and 2 prospects.
