MidaTech Pharma PLC (MTPH.L) has appointed a former GlaxoSmithKline PLC (LON:GSK) director to its board.
Frédéric Duchesne, who served as vice-president and director of commercial operations at GSK from 2004 to 2007, will join the biotechnology company as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Most recently, Duchesne served as head of the pharmaceuticals division at French firm Pierre Fabre Laboratories from 2010 until May this year.
He has also held senior positions at Sanofi and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Midatech chairman Rolf Stahel said: “I look forward to working with Frédéric and am very confident he will make an important and positive impact to Midatech across the business, particularly with the next, important stage in developing our manufacturing capabilities and commercialising the company's assets, as the company continues to develop its key projects through their clinical phase and towards their successful launch."
