3i Infrastructure PLC (LON:3IN) has snapped up French cold sterilisation facility owner Ionisos for €220mln. Ionisos is the third-largest cold sterilisation provider globally and operates a network of 11 facilities in Europe with market-leading positions in France and Spain. Pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries use the facilities as an essential component of the manufacturing process for products when heat sterilisation methods can be damaging. Richard Laing, 3i Infrastructure’s chair said, Ionisos diversified the fund’s exposure and its presence in the French market.
