Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has completed the on-site pre-treatment of brine sourced from its Paradox Lithium Project in Utah, with the first shipment dispatched for processing using ion exchange equipment.
This completes the first stage of processing of brine from which Anson intends to produce about 20 kilograms of lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) chemicals.
Following the completion of the ion exchange stage of processing, which will produce purified lithium chloride eluate, the eluate will then enter a lithium carbonate process followed by washing with deionized water, drying, and then being micronised using a jet mill.

The production of a sample of ~20 kilograms of Li2CO3 will use ion exchange equipment to be used in Anson’s planned on-site pilot plant.
This will not only provide the opportunity to provide samples to prospective customers to perform initial testing, but also provide further feedback on the expected performance of ion exchange equipment intended to be used in the planned on-site pilot plant.
The brine sample was collected from Long Canyon Unit 2 during Anson’s drilling and sampling program in the first and second quarters of 2019.
