Stuart and Amanda Lorimer have made their move after the share price hit 18-month lows following last week’s shock profit warning

The finance director of AG Barr PLC (LON:BAG) and his wife have bought almost £65,000 worth of shares in the Irn Bru maker over the past couple of days.

On Tuesday, Stuart Lorimer snapped up 6,496 shares for £40,000. A day later, his wife, Amanda, bought another 3,918 shares for £24,200.

Lorimer has been the soft drinks firm’s finance director four four-and-a-half years, having previously been a long-term employee at Diageo plc (LON:DGE).

The FD and his wife have taken advantage of the share price falling to 18-month lows following last week’s shock profit warning.

AG Barr said its profits this year will likely drop by as much as 20%, with bosses accepting that price hikes to some of its favourite drinks had dented sales by more than they anticipated.

Shares were up 0.8% to 624p on Wednesday morning. The stock is down by almost a quarter so far this year.
