Animoca Brands chairman outlined blockchain opportunities at Pocket Gamer Connects 2019

Animoca’s blockchain-based Formula 1 digital collectible, the 1-1-1 car, was recently sold at an auction for 415.9 Ether.

Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd (ASX:AB1) was a co-sponsor of Blockchain Gamer Connects and Pocket Gamer Connects Hong Kong 2019, a global mobile games industry conference held on July 18-19.

The event featured 15 tracks hosting numerous sessions from 120 speakers and was well-attended from an industry standpoint.

Animoca Brands chairman and co-founder Yat Siu was one of the speakers and he discussed blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) providing exciting new opportunities for content makers, distributors, and consumers.

He said NFTs revolutionise the content by enabling digital assets to become the centre of a user’s digital experience — the content itself can now become the platform.

Anomica was a co-sponsor of the conference with Cyberport Hong Kong.
