Predictive Discovery expands Boundiali potential with new gold zones

The Boundiali Project consists of two permits – Boundiali North and Boundiali South, which cover 29 kilometres of strike length with the southern portion remaining under explored.

Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) and joint venture partner Toro Gold Limited have discovered new zones of primary gold mineralisation on the Boundiali North permit, adding to the potential of the Boundiali Gold Project in Cote d’lvoire.

A 91-hole reconnaissance reverse circulation (RC) drilling program totalling 6,229 metres was completed in May 2019 as part of the 2019 Toro JV exploration program focused on the Boundiali and Ferkessedougou North projects.

High-grade assays have been received in results from 56 of the 91 RC holes on the Boundiali North permit along with a further 16 holes from infill drilling on the Boundiali South permit.

Predictive managing director Paul Roberts said: “The drilling and trenching programs at Boundiali have further enhanced the potential of both permits to host large tonnages of gold mineralisation.

“Also, large areas of gold-in-soil-anomalies remain untested on the Boundiali project, offering substantial opportunity to discover more mineralisation on both permits.

“Following the wet season break, the Toro joint venture will continue to aggressively explore the 14-kilometre-long zone of gold-in-soil anomalies in Boundiali North as well as the 6-kilometre-long Nyangboue gold geochemical anomaly with further drilling and trenching programs expected.

“The joint venture is now focused on advancing the Boundiali and Ferkessedougou North projects with highly encouraging results obtained on both projects.”

Broad-spaced RC drilling tested three strong gold-in-soil anomalies with a combined length of 7.7 kilometres within the previously defined broad, 14-kilometre-long zone of soil anomalies.

Notable intersections include:

  • 5 metres at 3.49 g/t gold from 28 metres;
  • 7 metres at 1.43 g/t from 18 metres;
  • 8 metres at 1.80 g/t from 35 metres;
  • 3 metres at 6.61 g/t from 45 metres;
  • 30 metres at 1.08 g/t from 32 metres; and
  • 32 metres at 1.46 g/t from 80 metres.

About 6,809 metres of reconnaissance trenching encountered wide zones of anomalous gold with multiple intersections of higher values, including 2 metres at 4.96 g/t gold.

A 31-hole RC infill drilling program testing a 720-metre section of the 1.2 kilometre-long Nyangboue gold mineralised zone was completed in April with highly encouraging results up to 2.42 g/t.

Results are reported from 16 more holes, totalling 1,612 metres with high-grade values returned including:

  • 2 metres at 7.87 g/t from 62 metres;
  • 10 metres at 1.5 g/t from 49 metres;
  • 4 metres at 4.65 g/t from 0 metres;
  • 2 metres at 16.12 g/t from 18 metres; and
  • 2 metres at 5.36 g/t from 64 metres.

Roberts added: "These discoveries provide further evidence that Cote D’Ivoire and the wider Birimian greenstone belt of West Africa are the best places globally to make greenfield gold discoveries.”

Next steps

The Boundiali project contains multiple high-priority targets over 20 kilometres of gold geochemical anomalies which are being systemically tested with trenching and drilling programs.

Further assay results are pending from a further 35 RC holes at Boundiali North and 16 holes from Boundiali South.

Discovery of new gold mineralisation at Boundiali North and encouraging results at Boundiali South have expanded the project’s potential.

There are also large areas of gold anomalous soils that remain untested by drilling within the 14-kilometre-long zone of soil anomalies at Boundiali North.
