Applied Graphene Materials partner launches anti-corrosion roof coating

Applied Graphene Materials PLC (LON:AGM) is supplying its graphene to a company for use in a new liquid coating to prevent corrosion of metal roofs. 

Alltimes Coatings, a specialist in the supply and application of protective building coatings based in the west of England, has used product from AGM in its Advantage Graphene liquid coating roofing system.

The coatings specialist says its new system provides “significantly enhanced anti-corrosion performance” thanks to the incorporation of graphene.

Advantage Graphene has been put through “extensive product development and a rigorous testing programme” that indicates its offers an industry-leading level of anti-corrosion performance and life expectancy for industrial and commercial roofs, enabling it to be offered with a 30-year product warranty.

The product has already been promoted to certain trade customers and several industrial applications have been scheduled over coming months.

Alltimes Coatings managing director Nigel Alltimes said that early feedback from customers was “very positive” and he anticipated “strong uptake”.

AGM chief executive Adrian Potts said partnering with coatings companies was a key objective of the company and in the global protective coatings industry it was “working with a number of undisclosed commercial partners”.
