Kavango hails major milestone in exploration at Kalahari Suture Zone

The firm said it had completed processing of data from a Phase 2 airborne electromagnetic survey over the northern section of its licences and was now working to identify the best targets for drilling

Kavango Resources PLC (LON:KAV) has hailed a “major milestone” in its exploration of licences at the Kalahari Suture Zone (KSZ) in Botswana.

The exploration firm said it had completed processing of data from a Phase 2 airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey over the northern section of its prospecting licences, which had to date revealed 45 conductive anomalies.

The new data had also produced results that were “greatly superior” to the Phase 1 AEM survey, with the processing techniques able to discriminate between false (artefact) conductors created by the software and "real" conductors that are generated by the geology.

Kavango said it would now survey the most compelling conductors with ground based resistivity techniques and detailed soil geochemistry with a view to identifying the best 3 or 4 targets for drilling.
