J.Jill brings in $177 million in revenue in 1Q

J Jill Inc. (NASDAQ:JILL) on Thursday said it brought in $176.5 million in revenue and earned $4.3 million in net income for its fiscal first quarter.

The retailer of women's clothes, shoes and accessories said it expects full-year earnings between $0.17 a share and $0.21 a share.

For the first quarter that ended May 5, J.Jill reported net income of $4.3 million, which translated into earnings of $0.10 a share. In the year-ago quarter, net income was $11.3 million, or $0.26 a share.

The company’s $176.5 million in revenue compares to $181.5 million in revenue for the year-ago quarter.

“We are early in the process of executing against our updated long-term strategies, and our new leadership team across key areas of the business is now in place and will begin to have greater impacts on the business,” said CEO Linda Heasley of the Quincy, Massachusetts-based company.
