e-Therapeutics executive director Steve Self ups holding

E-Therapeutics PLC (LON:ETX) announced further share purchases by its newly appointed executive director Steve Self. He bought 50,000 shares today at 36.5 pence each and now holds 163,090 shares, or 0.11 percent of the capital.

Self has bought his shares in several transactions this month.

He was promoted to an executive position in December 2010, with the primary responsibility to supervise the development of e-Therapeutics' proprietary portfolio of drug candidates.

This involves complete Phase II trials of e-Therapeutics candidates in multiple metastatic cancers, depression and C.difficile plus possible Phase II trials for other anti-infective candidates.

All the trials are planned to complete in 2012.

Last month e-Therapeutics revealed it was raising £17.6 million from investors that will provide the company with funds to develop four lead drug candidates while pursuing collaborative deals. A small portion of the funds are used to repay £900,000 of loan notes.
