Oncimmune kicks off China study of lung cancer screening device

The company’s chief executive, Dr Adam Hill, told investors: "This study is part of our ongoing programme to support the introduction of EarlyCDT-Lung in China, which is progressing to schedule."

Oncimmune Holdings PLC (LON:ONC) said it has begun a large-scale study in China to assess the potential of its screening device in patients with early-stage lung cancer.

It and partner Genostics will deploy EarlyCDT-Lung to monitor a group of 1,000 people at five health centres.

The programme will be led by Professor Bai, chair of pulmonary medicine at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.

EarlyCDT-Lung is a blood test using a panel of immunogenic proteins that can pick up signs of lung cancer.

Oncimmune said it will deploy an extended panel of auto-antibodies to accommodate variations in the biomarkers expressed on cancer cells in Asian populations.

The company’s chief executive, Dr Adam Hill, told investors: "This study is part of our ongoing programme to support the introduction of EarlyCDT-Lung in China, which is progressing to schedule.

“We welcome this initiative and the commitment of our partner Genostics in supporting the introduction of EarlyCDT-Lung into what is one of the world's largest markets."
