Saturn Metals Ltd (ASX:STN) has planned a 5,000 metre aircore drilling program to test target areas including the historic 11 kilometre long Yerilla/Hermes old workings trend at the Apollo Hill Gold Project near Leonora in WA.
Other target areas include Bobs trend (targeting areas of thinner cover) and the Athena area about 10 kilometres south-east of Apollo Hill.
Follow up reverse circulation and diamond drilling programs are also in progress with the company aiming to complete 10,000 metres of drilling over the next 6-9 months.

Saturn is expecting to factor these results into the next upgrade of the Apollo Hill mineral resource which stands at 20.7 million grading 1 g/t gold for 685,000 ounces of gold.
Drilling throughout the March quarter defined several structures for extensional and infill exploration along strike to the north-west and south-east.
Best aircore results were returned at Bob’s Bore where a broad (400-metre-wide) anomalous zone of mineralisation was noted across the gold prospective Keith Kilkenny shear zone about 3.5 kilometres east of Apollo Hill and 500 metres south of historic intersections including 9 metres at 10.9 g/t from 90 metres.
While the results returned were under significant cover, assays are material at a regional scale with multiple kilometres of strike length of this structure remaining open to the north and south where cover is interpreted to thin.
Saturn’s planned drilling will continue to test this target with broader step out drilling looking for better grades on what is now interpreted to be a major gold bearing structure.
