Lighting group Luceco PLC (LON:LUCE) made headway as it rebounded into profit in the second half of the year.
Revenues at the Telford-based business eased 2% in 2018 to £164mln with pre-tax profits three-quarters lower at £3mln but cost-cutting and other remedial measures meant a second-half surplus of £7.4mln after an interim loss.
John Hornby, chief executive, said conditions in the UK market remain uncertain for now but Luceco had successfully improved its competitive position, bolstered systems and processes and expects to cut debt further from £32.2mln.
Shares rose 3% to 80.3p.
