MOVERS: Snap's new gaming platform earns upgrade; Intel dips on downgrade

Also making moves Friday were Intel and Office Depot

Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) jumped after announcing new content and a gaming platform Thursday afternoon. The social messaging app unveiled Snap Games, which will allow users to play original and third-party games right from the app. The company also announced new content for its Discover Channel. All the excitement earned Snap an upgrade from Summit Insights Group to Hold from Sell and a price target bump to $10 from $5, per Bloomberg. That’s 11% below Thursday’s close.

Shares increased nearly 5% to close at $11.84.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) dipped Friday after Well Fargo analysts hit the stock with a downgrade. The firm shifted the chipmaker to Market Perform from Outperform and raised their price target to $60 from $55. That’s a 7% premium over Thursday’s close. Analysts cited gains made by rival AMD among other concerns, according to TheStreet.

Shares of the semiconductor company slipped 0.6% to finish at $55.60.

Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ:ODP) stock spiraled after posting preliminary first-quarter results Thursday that disappointed investors. The office supplies retailer expects $2.76 billion in revenue and adjusted operating income of $61 million. That’s well below analysts’ average expectation of $2.82 billion. The company’s CompuCom division is expected to report a loss of $15 million. The Boca Raton, Florida-based company will report definitive numbers and updated guidance on May 8.

The stock continued to slide, ending the day down 5.6% to $2.72.
