Black Cat Syndicate Limited (ASX:BC8) has welcomed the extension of an Eastern Goldfields 2D seismic survey across its Bulong Gold Project in WA as the work aims to image geology at depths between 300 metres and 5,000 metres showing the deep fault architecture responsible for gold transport.
The company has contributed about $12,000 as the extended survey will cover three southern corridors at the project.
Survey work is being carried out by the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA) and the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS).
The survey, which is being run along existing roads, is designed to understand the geology underground and create maps of the subsurface.

Black Cat managing director Gareth Solly said: “This was an excellent initiative of the GSWA and DMIRS in which we are pleased to participate.
“We are looking forward to receiving the survey data which will further assist in our understanding of the prospective stratigraphy at depth.”
Resource growth potential along southern corridors
The Mhyree-Boundary, Queen Margaret and Trump corridors have a combined length of 17 kilometres and run in parallel along the length of Bulong, forming a north-south trending package of conglomeritic sediments with mineralised porphyritic units between ultramafic units.
Currently defined resources sit over only 14% of the corridors, which remain open along strike and at depth.
Black Cat’s drilling focus is on extensional drilling throughout 2019 with an upgrade of the resource expected in September 2019.
