AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMC) shares got a lift Thursday from Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain Marvel and a host of other heroes. Even Thanos pitched in.
The movie theater chain announced first-day sales for Avengers: Endgame that stormed to a new US pre-sale record, topping Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
AMC sold more advance tickets for Endgame on day one than it did for Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Star Wars: The Last Jedi on their first days combined.
Investors are punching their tickets, raising the share price 2.2% to $14.94.
Fandango, the online movie ticket vendor is also seeing a benefit. Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:CMCSA), which owns NBCUniversal and its majority stake in the vendor, saw its stock rise 0.3% to $40.40.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
