Argent Minerals Limited (ASX:ARD) is preparing for its maiden drilling at the historical Pine Ridge gold mine within the wider Kempfield project in Central West New South Wales.
Preparatory work includes upgrading an access track with an excavator to be followed by preparation of drill pads to facilitate the program once the track is completed.
Contractor appointed
A drilling contractor has been appointed and mobilisation will take place after the track is upgraded.
This program of six holes for around 800 metres will mark the first drilling in more than 20 years at Pine Ridge.
Further drill pads will be prepared in parallel with drilling of the first hole to facilitate the remainder of the holes.
Historical intersections
The purpose of this initial drilling is to test potential depth and strike extensions to the high-grade mineralisation identified by historical drilling.
Historical high-grade intersections include:
- 21 metres at 5.6 g/t gold from 50 metres, including 1 metre at 62.9 g/t from 59 metres;
- 10 metres at 4.1 g/t from 51 metres, including 1 metre at 20.6 g/t from 52 metres;
- 10 metres at 3.7 g/t from 71 metres, including 1 metre at 11.2 g/t from 76 metres; and
- 18 meters at 2.4 g/t from 68 metres, including 1 metre at 5.3 g/t from 77 metres.
