The ASX200 is up 17.1 points or 0.30% higher to 6,153.1.

S&P/ASX 200 (INDEXASX:XJO) has rallied off its 11am low to be trading near its high for the day which was 6,155.8 or up 0.3% mid-afternoon.

Funds management company Platinum Asset Management Ltd (ASX:PTM) has had another tough day, down 3.8% to $4.57.

The S&P 500 finished down 0.46% to 2,805 overnight in the US on recession fears and the Nasdaq Composite finished 0.63% lower to 7,643.

Weighing down the most on the US indices were Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Facebook (NASDAQ:FB).
