Buxton Resources confirms zones of nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation at WA project

The company’s strategic alliance with Independence Group NL (ASX:IGO) will allow the exploration to occur at all projects, maximising the chance of exploration success.

Buxton Resources Limited (ASX:BUX) has confirmed well-developed zones of nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation at its Double Magic Nickel-Copper Project in WA.

Laboratory assays from 2018 drilling at the Merlin prospect within Double Magic indicate all holes intersected visible nickel-copper sulphides, including numerous occurrences of brecciated massive sulphides.

Major work programs will soon begin across Buxton’s prospective exploration projects in WA.

Assays

Assays recorded up to 8.14% nickel, 5.26% copper and 0.69% cobalt with numerous large conductors relating to nickel-copper mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.

Other results include:

6.60 metres at 3.47% nickel equivalent from 309.4 metres within 14 metres at 1.88% from 304 metres;

2.19 metres at 5.24% from 236 metres within 6 metres at 2.4% from 236 metres; and

9.90 metres at 1.50% from 242.7 metres within 15 metres at 1.06% from 242 metres.

West Kimberley joint venture

The recently formed regional joint venture between Buxton Resources and Independence Group NL will allow for increased nickel-copper exploration activity in the underexplored King Leopold Oreogen.

An exploration program at Merlin is being finalised to test several hypotheses including depth extensions to the intrusive complex and possible structurally hosted zones of mineralisation.

The field season will comprise deep-penetrating SQUID moving loop electromagnetic (EM) planned for quarter-two 2019 as well as a deep drilling and down-hole electromagnetic survey program planned for quarter-three 2019.
