Exploration firm ECR Minerals PLC (LON:ECR) has appointed Sam Garrett, a geologist with experience in multi-national and junior mining firms, as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science degree with first class honours in Geology and a master of economic geology degree, both from the University of Tasmania, as well as a master of applied finance degree from Macquarie University in Australia.

He also currently holds the positions of principal at geology consultancy Metal Ventures and managing director at metal miner Pacific Trends Resources.
Craig Brown, chief executive of ECR, said that Garrett brought “extensive geological experience onto the board” across various geographies including Australia, South America, and the Philippines, areas where the company has existing business interests.
“The timing of Sam’s appointment is key, as we look to rapidly advance our existing interests and continue to identify new strategic acquisition opportunities”, Brown added.
In lunchtime trading Friday, ECR shares were down 2.9% at 0.82p.
