Capricorn Metals Ltd (ASX:CMM) has appointed Warren Hallam as the company’s managing director and chief executive officer, starting February 19, 2019.
Hallam’s recent roles including managing director & CEO of ASX-listed companies Metals X Limited (ASX:MLX) and Metals Exploration Limited (ASX:MTX).
He has also held a range of senior positions within WMC Limited including corporate and technical/managerial roles within the gold and nickel business units.
Hallam is a metallurgist by qualification and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in metallurgy, a Master of Science in mineral economics and a graduate diploma of finance.

Capricorn chair Debra Bakker said the company was delighted by Hallam’s appointment and that he would bring the requisite skills and background to lead Capricorn through its next phase.
Bakker said: “His decision to join Capricorn is a compelling endorsement of the company and he will bring his extensive corporate, development and operating experience to the company.”
Extensive project experience
In his role at Metals X, Hallam helped build one of Australia’s top ten gold businesses through successful corporate transactions and the demerger of Westgold Resources Ltd (ASX:WGX).
He led the significant restructuring of the Nifty Copper Mine, providing the foundations for the operation to grow into a large and long-life asset, and led development of Australia’s largest nickel and cobalt resource at the Wingellina Nickel Project.
Hallam was also instrumental in transforming the Renison Tin Mine into a world-class operation, including the development of the Rentails tin retreatment project to its final approval stage.
Leading an Australian-listed gold company

Hallam will be appointed on an ongoing basis with an initial total fixed renumeration of $450,000 annum.
