African Barrick Gold (LON:ABG) said that net income in the year to 31 December reached US$218 million with earnings per share of US$53.2 cents, up 272% on 2009.
Revenues soared 37% to US$975 million.
BHP Billiton (LON:BLT) reported its results for the six months to 31 December. Revenues surged 39% to US$34.17 billion, underlying EBITDA jumped 59.7% to US$17.3 billion and basic earnings per share were up 71.5% to 189.2 US cents.
BAE Systems (LON:BA) has completed the acquisition of L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc.'s Intelligence Services Group (ISG) for a total purchase price of approximately US$297 million in cash.
3i Group (LON:III) has completed the acquisition of Mizuho Investment Management Limited from Mizuho Corporate Bank. MIM is a European debt management businesses with assets under management of £3.7 billion.
The acquisition consideration is £18.3 million.
Tullow Oil (LON:TLW) announced that the Gharabi-1 well, located in Block 6 offshore Mauritania, was unsuccessful and has been plugged and abandoned.
BG Group (LON:BG) today announced a new discovery of oil in Block BM-S-10 in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.
