Chamberlin slides after becoming the latest company to warn of Brexit uncertainty

A look at the day's major movers, including Jangada Mines, Pebble Beach, Gama Aviation, Water Intelligence and Maestrano

Chamberlin PLC (LON:CMH), the specialist castings and engineering group, fell 12.6% after warning trading conditions have toughened.

Customer schedules for the European turbocharger market have suffered significant reductions, partly related to the disturbance to production schedules resulting from the new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure emissions testing regime.

There are also uncertainties relating to Brexit, and the group's Petrel business has experienced a slowdown.

1.00pm: Jangada sparkles after vanadium exploration update

Results from 72 samples taken from Jangada Mines PLC's (LON:JAN) Ptombeiras West drilling campaign confirm continuous high-grade vanadium, titanium and iron grades at surface.

Grades reported run as high as 1.1 % vanadium (V2O5), 14.3 % titanium (TiO2) and 61.4 % iron (Fe), the natural resources company said.

Average sample grades include 0.91 % vanadium (V2O5), 10.7 % Titanium (TiO2) and 53 % iron (Fe), and were three times higher for vanadium and titanium than management was initially anticipating.

Shares in Jangada were up 8.5% at 2.55p in lunchtime trading.

11.30am: Pebble Beach chips in

The trading update from Pebble Beach Systems Group PLC (LON:PEB) sent the shares surging to 5.75p from 5.15p overnight.

The software house focused on the broadcast sector said results for 2018 should be in line with expectations with operating profit about four times as high as 2017's result, at more than £2mln.

The group's financial position improved with a reduction in net debt at the end of 2018 to £9.4mlm from £10.3mln a year earlier.

10.30am: Gama Aviation returns US$7.75mln received through overpayment

Gama Aviation PLC (LON:GMAA) shares fell by more than a fifth after it owned up to receiving overpayments.

The company said it had identified the receipt of two overpayments, in error, from Gama Aviation LLC, its US Air associate.

One was for US$5.75mln and the other for around US$2mln. Both have been repaid in full.

9.30am: Water Intelligence puts on a spurt but profit warning hammers Maestrano

Leak detection specialist Water Intelligence PLC (LON:WATR) rose by almost a tenth on the back of an upbeat trading update.

The company has bought back its ALD franchise in Ontario, sold a new franchise territory in Youngstown (Ohio) and announced it is to provide financial support to assist a franchise in Idaho to jump-start expansion from leak detection to repairs and municipal.

"We are off to a fast start in 2019,” declared Dr Patrick DeSouza, the executive chairman of Water Intelligence.

“These transactions unlock significant shareholder value both from synergies and expansion into new offerings. Water Intelligence is scaling operationally with multiple business lines and can execute such complementary transactions, again and again, going forward to reinforce sustainable growth,” he added.

The trading update from Maestrano Group Plc (LON:MNO) was not so well received, with the shares losing more than a third of their value.

The cross-app data synchronisation specialist said it has taken a much more cautious approach to the ramp-up of end-user subscription revenue for 2019 and has revised its outlook accordingly.

“This cautious approach is expected to result in revenue and the adjusted loss for the 2019 financial year being materially behind market expectations,” the company said.
