Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) fell Monday after the Google parent reported higher traffic acquisition costs. It posted fourth-quarter earnings per share of $12,77 on revenue of $39.28 billion. The average estimate of analysts was $10.86 per share on expected revenue of $38.98 billion.
The Google parent’s Class A shares fell 3.2% to $1,105.17 in after-hours trading.
Seagate Technology plc (NASDAQ:STX) rose after reporting higher-than-expected second-quarter earnings. For the three months ended December 28, the Cupertino, California, company posted a drop in diluted earnings per share to $1.41,but that beat the $1.28 average estimate of analysts.
The stock climbed 3.1% to $46.97 after hours.
Allergan plc (NYSE:AGN) was one of the biggest losers on the S&P 500 Index after the Food and Drug Administration approved a wrinkle treatment to rival the company’s Botox. Shares of Evolus Inc(NASDAQ:EOLS) climbed on approval of its Jeuveau treatment.
Shares of Allergan fell 3.9% to $138.53 while Evolus gained 12% to $20.50.
Papa John's International Inc (NASDAQ:PZZA) shares gained after The Wall Street Journal reported that the hedge fund Starboard Value LP will make a $200 million investment in the pizza chain.
The stock added 9% to stand at $41.97.
Clorox Co (NYSE:CLX) advanced after the consumer products company reported a second-quarter profit that beat expectations. It posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.40, compared with the average estimate of $1.30. The company also repeated its 2019 full-year outlook.
The shares added 5.6% to $158.38.
The Ultimate Software Group Inc (NASDAQ:ULTI) saw shares surge as the cloud-focused human capital management technology firm announced that it has agreed to be acquired by an investor group led by Hellman & Friedman, the private equity firm.
Shares increased 20% to $332.54.
