Outsourcer Serco Group PLC (LON:SRP) has confirmed a £560mln contract to provide health services to the Australian armed forces in conjunction with Bupa.
Serco will be sub-contracted to recruit health care support staff at more than 50 Australian Defence Force bases.
Initially to run for six years from July, the contract has up to four one-year extensions.
Serco's responsibilities will cover more than 1,000 professional staff who will support the delivery of an integrated health care system to over 80,000 ADF members and reservists.”
In January, Serco won contracts worth £1.9bn from the UK government to manage more than 5,000 properties occupied by asylum seekers.
Under the terms of the deal, the FTSE 250 group will be responsible for the upkeep of the homes in the North West of England and the Midlands & East of England for the next ten years.
