Trek Metals Ltd (ASX:TKM) has recorded its final three drill holes from its flagship Kroussou Zinc-Lead Project in Gabon, Africa.
Assays within the Dikaki Channel continue to show highly significant, very thick and continuous accumulation of sulphide mineralisation near-surface.
Best results include: 5.4 metres at 3.2% zinc and lead, including 46.6 metres at 1.1%; and 10 metres at 1.9% within an interval of 6.3 metres at 0.9%.
Potential to develop “world-class project”
Trek managing director Bradley Drabsch said: “We have achieved everything we wanted to with this drilling program, the significance of which can’t be overstated.
“We have taken what was an historic dataset with limited drilling and demonstrated that with a little more work, Kroussou has the potential of developing into a very large, potentially word-class zinc-lead project.
“The outlook for both commodities remains strong in the long term and we are highly confident that easily accessible, open pit, high quality ore sources such as those we are demonstrating to be present at Kroussou will be highly sought after by the market.”
Continued exploration to define satellite resources
Continued exploration within the adjacent channels at Bouambo South, Bouambo East, Bimbome and Niambokamba will likely lead to the definition of numerous satellite resources, culminating in a very large resource base for Kroussou.
The company is now in a position to finalise its exploration target, due for release in February.
