Legend Mining Ltd (ASX:LEG) has delivered new positive outcomes from exploration activities completed during the December 2018 quarter, including:
• Nine new conductors identified and better definition of two previous conductors at the Area D prospect within Legend’s Rockford Project in the highly prospective Fraser Range district of Western Australia;
• Two new conductors and anomalous volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) geochemical signature identified at the Shackleton Prospect with the Rockford Project;
• Anomalous 0.71% nickel and copper-zinc-silver geochemistry defined at Rockford South.
Rockford Project with December 2018 quarter activity locations
The positive results have set the scene for a pipeline of programs across the Rockford Project in 2019.
Legend’s programs will commence with an aeromagnetic survey over a portion of Rockford South and an induced polarisation (IP) survey at Area D which is aimed to provide a new dataset to assist in the design of locations for follow up diamond drilling.
The ongoing aircore drill activities are planned to resume in early March 2019, commencing at Rockford South.
Rockford South future programs
• Detailed 50 metre line spaced aeromagnetic survey over 124 square kilometres of tenements to assist future target selection;
• Infill aircore drilling adjacent to drill holes RKAC520 and RKAC505 to define the extent of anomalous geochemistry;
• Reverse circulation/diamond drill testing of Area S conductor and ongoing assessment of exploration results and target selection.
Area D future programs
• An IP (induced polarisation) survey over the conductors in the central synform, also covering aircore drill hole RKAC183 which contained disseminated pyrrhotite-pentlandite-chalcopyrite sulphides;
• Aircore drilling aimed at providing geological context for identified conductors to assist with target prioritisation; and
• Detailed electromagnetic surveys to better define parameters and orientation of D13-D15 conductors.
