Haydale Graphene selling 'commercial volumes' of ink for diabetes test in Taiwan

According to Haydale it is the first time graphene ink has been used in these quantities in the diabetes test market

Haydale Graphene Industries PLC’s  (LON:HAYD) Taiwanese operation HTW has started to ship commercial quantities of its graphene ink for diabetes test strips.

Trials have been underway for a year by the customer, but sizeable deliveries have now started as part of a 100Kg order.

According to Haydale it is the first time graphene ink has been used in these quantities in this market.

Trials have also started of an all-carbon sensor utilising graphene-enhanced ink that cuts out the currently used and expensive silver conductive ink tracks.

HTW’s inks are also scoring very well in a key printing metric, the C/V ratio, where a low percentage indicates a high consistent, repeatability factor.

The graphene inks have an accuracy rating of over 99%, which Haydale says is well above the industry norm.

David Banks, interim executive chairman, said:  "Our Taiwan facility is only 15 months old and, from a standing start, has now developed a range of functionalised graphene inks that are gaining market acceptance where repeat sales have pleasingly started to occur.

"Over the last four months, HTW has supplied over 100Kg of inks to 12 print customers at various stages of evaluation."
