Peel Mining Ltd (ASX:PEX) has intersected new zinc-rich massive sulphide mineralisation in two new holes from the Southern Nights prospect within the Wagga Tank Project, New South Wales.
Assays remain pending for the two holes, WTRCDD153 and WTRCDD157, which were testing down-dip from recently released hole WTRCDD150.
Notably, WTRCDD150 intersected 18.2 metres at 40.3% zinc, 15.7% lead, 0.97% copper, 356 g/t silver and 2.77 g/t gold from 182 metres depth.

Geological logging and portable XRF analyses indicate very high-grade zinc-lead-silver mineralisation with significant copper mineralisation.
This adds further support to Peel’s belief that an important zone of very high-grade mineralisation exists in the Central Southern Nights Zone.
As previously outlined, Peel is now targeting this area with close-spaced infill drilling to better define its geometry and scale.
Wagga Tank, Mallee Bull and Cobar Superbasin Projects all in same area
Wagga Tank is one of three projects in the region and is located 130 kilometres south of Cobar on the western edge of the Cobar Superbasin.
Mineralisation comprises a near-surface oxide gold zone, a possible supergene-enriched copper-gold-silver zone, and a primary zinc-lead-silver rich massive sulphide zone starting at the base of oxidation around 120 metres below surface.
Maiden resource due by June quarter 2019
Drilling currently underway is part of a 20,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling program designed to estimate a maiden JORC resource before June 30, 2019.
The drill program is also designed to test for extensions to the mineralised system, which remains open along strike and at depth.
