Brave Bison’s Rebel FC YouTuber football team inks two-year shirt deal with Utilita

“Whilst the fees payable are not material to the group, this sponsorship deal is testament to the value in creator football”

Brave Bison Group PLC’s (LON:BBSN) Rebel FC YouTuber football team has signed a two-year shirt sponsorship deal with energy supplier Utilita.

The team, which is captained by YouTube star Calfreezy, will wear the Utilita logo on its shirts at this weekend’s Wembley Cup, which features other influencer sides such as Hashtag United and The F2.

All of the games will be broadcast to the team’s thousands of social media followers.

“Utilita is renowned for being a challenger brand and therefore a partnership with Rebel FC fits seamlessly with this reputation,” said chief executive Claire Hungate.

“I am delighted to see Rebel FC attract a major brand sponsor before they take part in their debut Wembley Cup and Utilita's decision to sponsor Rebel, alongside teams such as Leeds United and Aston Villa, really endorses our investment in creator football.”

Utilita’s marketing and communications director Jem Maidment added: “We are thrilled to be on board with Calfreezy and the team - not just for the Wembley Cup 2018 but to be powering the rebellion for the next two years, connecting us with a Gen Z and Millennial audience.”

Brave Bison said the figures involved in the deal are “not material” but added that the sponsorship is “testament to the value in creator football”.

Shares rose 1.9% to 1.35p on Friday morning.
