In case you haven’t noticed yet, blockchain technology is aiming to be the new kid on the ‘block’ when it comes to disrupting how we do business.
However, for many businesses, established and start-up alike, identifying which areas can adopt, integrate, and use the technology effectively remains difficult for all but the most knowledgeable.
This is where Northstar Venture Technologies come in.
The company styles itself as a “full-service technology commercialization company” specializing in enterprise software solutions, security token offerings, strategic portfolio investments and joint ventures.
The company currently provides services through three branches;
• Equity Technologies – Provides infrastructure for companies to create digital assets and token
• EnterBlock – Allows firms to implement blockchain technology into a framework alongside their legacy assets
• Professional Services – A range of services including proof of business and proof of concept to design, prototype, and integrate new software into a business’s infrastructure
Chief executive sees foundational potential
Dean Sutton, Northstar’s chief executive, says that in the future businesses and platforms used on a daily basis will be functioning with blockchain tech in one form or another.
Having started mining cryptocurrency out of his garage in 2014, Sutton has been heavily involved in working with data systems and the potential integration benefits of blockchain technology.
“Industry knows the technology holds immense value. The challenge is in identifying the opportunities, then being able to build, test and integrate the new technology into existing systems” Sutton says, citing companies such as computing giant IBM (NYSE:IBM) as one of the big firm engaging with blockchain in a “meaningful way” through its blockchain protocol.
He adds that despite an initial pullback from the “innovation trigger” which sparked a flurry of investment in 2017, the market was now in place to all for “sustainable and pragmatic growth based on more factors than speculation”.
In short, there will be less of the boom-and-bust that followed the Bitcoin speculation and more cold, hard information on blockchain tech and its advantages for enterprise.
Plans to list
Sutton also said the company has seen a high level of support and receptiveness from investors, useful as it is currently planning to list of the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE).
In June, the company said it had raised around C$6.8mln in a financing round, bringing its total to C$7.6mln since its establishment in 2017.
