Sportech mulling takeover offer for lottery games specialist LOT.TO

The two parties have entered into a strategic alliance, but Sportech is considering taking the relationship a step further

Gaming group Sportech plc (LON:SPO) has entered into a strategic alliance with lottery games specialist LOT.TO.

Sportech is looking to take their relationship a step further and is in discussions with LOT.TO over a possible takeover deal, which Sportech thinks would “further solidify [its] global gaming services position”.

In the meantime, they hope alliance will provide their clients with a broader suite of gaming opportunities.

“Our future with Sportech is hugely exciting because our clients can benefit from the combination of Sportech's proven robust processing technology and hardware and our innovative iLottery platform in a single offering as well as the obvious synergies in sports betting platforms,” said LOT.TO co-founder Andrew Lindley.

Sportech boss Richard McGuire added: “Our strategic alliance with LOT.TO will enhance our existing successful core lottery product and will help us to capitalise on the worldwide growth of lottery and lottery-style games and reach an ever-expanding digital audience.”

Shares fell 2.2% to 39.5p on Friday morning.
