Bluebird Merchant raises funds at a premium to develop Korean mines

The price of the share issue was 2.5p, a 16% premium to the market price

Korea-focused gold mining junior Bluebird Merchant Ventures Ltd (LON:BMV) shares rose on Thursday following news it has raised US$380,000 from a private share issue at a premium to the market price.

Colin Patterson, chief executive, has also agreed to swap US$750,000 of debt into shares.

The price of both shares issues was 2.5p, a 16% premium to the market price.

Warrants are attached to a private placement exercisable at 3p, with an accelerator arrangement for additional warrants exercisable at 4p.

Patterson said: "We are pleased to have completed a premium Private Placement given the current market conditions.

“This demonstrates the confidence in our South Korean projects and in the progress that has been made as we continue to move towards our goal of reopening the mines.”

Bluebird has two South Korean mining projects, Gubong and Kochang.

In late morning trading, Bluebird merchant hares were 7.5% higher at 2.15p.
