William Hill picks up 4.7% of shares in Mr Green & Co

William Hill offered to buy the Swedish digital gaming company for SEK 2.82bn (£241.8mln) in October

FTSE 250 bookmaker William Hill plc (LON:WMH) said it has agreed to purchase 4.7% of the shares in Swedish gambling firm Mr Green & Co AB.

The firm said it had purchased around 1.9mln shares for a price of 69 Swedish Krona (584p) each.

The move follows an announcement at the end of October that shareholders representing around 40.4% of Mr Green’s share capital had agreed to a purchase offer of the same price of SEK 69.

In late-afternoon trading Friday, William Hill shares were down 1.1% at 195.3p.
