The UK’s largest fishing tackle retailer, Angling Direct plc (LON:ANG), opened a new store in Peterborough over the weekend taking the total number in the UK to 24.
The firm said the ‘destination store’, the first of its kind in the city, would create five full and three part-time positions and occupied 3,500 square feet in Peterborough’s eastern part.

The new store followed a placing earlier this month when the company netted £20mln from investors to fund an ambitious expansion plan that aims to open 20 new stores in the UK in 2019 and 2020.
Darren Bailey, chief executive of Angling Direct, said the group would “continue to strategically expand” its geographical footprint, as well as enhancing its online offering to “help raise the profile of angling”.
