Molendotech, a company backed by Frontier IP Group Plc (LON:FIPP), has entered into a collaboration agreement to develop water tests for G's Group.
Molendotech, a University of Plymouth spin out that manufactures a device to test water for faecal contamination, will work with G's, one of Europe's leading fresh produce companies, to create tests to detect the levels of different bacteria in produce, irrigation, washing water and food contact areas.

"This is a great opportunity for G's. We recognise that there is tremendous scope to improve turnaround time for micro testing, which will enable us to confidently release our products to our customers," said Darren Gedge, G’s Group’s director of technical innovation and chilled foods.
Molendotech’s technology could potentially cut the time to conduct faecal contamination tests from up to two days currently to less than an hour.
Neil Crabb, the chief executive of Frontier, which has a 14.1% stake in Moldendotech, said fresh produce was one of the many sectors where Frontier believes Molendotech can make a real difference.

Shares in Frontier were up 3.3% in early deals.
