Argo Blockchain PLC (LON:ARB) has unveiled plans to include the world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, on its mining platform from the start of next month.

The provider of crypto mining services said the move had come in response to rising consumer demand and would increase the total number of cryptocurrencies available on its platform to seven.

Argo’s platform currently allows its customers to mine Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Zcash, Komodo, and Horizen through its monthly subscription, cloud-based mining-as-a-software service.

The addition follows the news at the start of the month that sales of the firm’s crypto mining packages had increased ten-fold since its initial public offering (IPO) in August.

Mike Edwards, president and co-founder of Argo, said the move to add Bitcoin was part of the firm’s customer-led growth strategy.

One Bitcoin is currently worth around US$6,213, with the currency carrying a market cap of around US$114bn.
