Nektan names Lucy Buckley as chief executive officer

Buckley set up and ran Inspired Entertainment's interactive division

Nektan PLC (LON:NKTN) has named Lucy Buckley as chief executive officer, taking over from founder Gary Shaw who served as interim CEO of the gambling and software services company.

The AIM-listed company said Buckley’s term will begin on December 3. Shaw will continue as an executive director at Nektan. He retook the CEO role after the June 2017 resignation of Leigh Nissim from the top position.

Buckley most recently served as vice president of the interactive division at Inspired Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ:INSE). She set up and ran the division over the last three years, logging double-digit growth on a year-on-year basis, said Nektan.

Nektan runs The Sun Play, the online slots site at News UK. In September, Nektan said through its platform the site logged a 47% year-on-year increase in net gaming revenue to £1.8mln.

“We are delighted that Lucy is joining Nektan when we are seeing considerable growth in the business. Lucy's extensive international gaming experience is an excellent fit for the role as Nektan's CEO,” said Shaw in a statement. “Lucy will help to build on our most recent successes, as we continue to win new contracts and deliver additional revenue streams.”
