Greggs set to be the stand-out on a quiet Tuesday in the City

With little else expected in the way of news, the FTSE 250 bakery group will likely command most of the market’s attention

It is set to be a relatively quiet Tuesday in London, with only a handful of companies due to push out a release of one description or another.

High street bakery Greggs plc (LON:GRG) is arguably the highest profile company reporting on Tuesday and investors will be hoping to see a continuation of the positive trends flagged back in summer.

The FTSE 250 firm’s last commentary in July flagged a return to growth for May and June, leading to what analysts described as “a satisfactory set of interims”.

Since then, the shares have traded slightly better – albeit, still lower for the year to date.

Expectations are somewhat muted, so any material change should tip the balance in either direction.

Tuesday October 9:

Trading update: Greggs plc (LON:GRG)

Finals: Ceres Power Holdings PLC (LON:CWR), Mysale Group PLC (LON:MYSL), St Ives PLC (LON:SIV), Transense Technologies PLC (LON:TRT), YouGov PLC (LON:YOU)

Interims: LiDCO Group plc (LON:LID)
