Assura splashes out £50mln on three more acquisitions

The healthcare property investor said one of the acquisitions was the Stratford Healthcare Centre, one of the largest primary healthcare facilities in the UK

Assura PLC (LON:AGR) has completed another three acquisitions in a £50mln spending spree that has taken its total acquisition spend this year to £158mln.

The FTSE 250-healthcare property investor said one of the acquisitions was the Stratford Healthcare Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon, one of the largest primary healthcare facilities in the UK, at almost 6,000 square metres.

The total number of additions this year is now 42 medical centres, with a passing rent roll of £7.7mln and a weighted average unexpired lease term of 14.2 years.

Jonathan Murphy, chief executive of Assura, said: "We are delighted to have added three more high quality assets to our portfolio, as we continue to deploy capital to grow our rent roll. Stratford, which is now one of the largest properties in our portfolio, is a great example of a medical centre acting as a hub for the community, bringing together a range of services in a primary healthcare setting."
