Former finance director of Lloyds corporate bank to join Rathbone Brothers

Jennifer Mathias held various senior positions at Lloyds over a 16-year period, including as finance director of corporate banking

Investment management firm Rathbone Brothers PLC (LON:RAT) has appointed former Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) director, Jennifer Mathias as group finance director from April next year.

Mathias joins Rathbones from EFG Private Bank where she has been chief financial officer and deputy chief executive since 2015. She was previously global CFO at private banking company Coutts & Co and has held various senior positions at Lloyds over a 16-year period, including as finance director of corporate banking.

Rathbones said the appointment will increase the number of executive directors from two to three.

“With extensive experience in the wealth management and private banking sectors, (Mathias) will make a significant contribution to the delivery of our strategic plans and brings qualities that will be complementary to the management team at Rathbones,” said chief executive Philip Howell.

Mathias replaces Paul Stockton, who has been operating as both finance director and managing director since May.

He will step down as finance director but continue to work as managing director once Matthias joins. The managing director role was newly created when Stockton took the position.
