“Blockchain improves security and enables better management of transactions through complex processes,” said AT&T Vice President Amy Daudelin in the company’s press release.

The telecom’s blockchain technology is designed to work with Microsoft Corp’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure and IBM Corp’s (NYSE:IBM) Blockchain platform.

In other IBM Blockchain news, insurance broker Marsh will be expanding its partnership with the company.

Marsh teamed up with IBM Blockchain to launch a commercial version of its insurance verification program, as per a CoinDesk report.

The platform will simplify the process for clients, designed to be faster and more transparent than the current manual input process.

The blockchain-based service will be offered through the Salesforce platform, according to the report.

The Cann Report

The cannabis-focused tech platform has launched the WeedPass rewards program, allowing dispensary shoppers to earn points and trade them in for tickets to a concert, movie or other event.

WeedPass purchases tickets in bulk for between $5 to $10 and then dispensaries are charged a listing fee between $15 and $20 per ticket to list a reward on its platform.

Currently, cannabis shoppers spending between $50 to $75 may be eligible for a reward at participating dispensaries.

A Colorado dispensary was recently broken into, but the thieves didn’t get what they were expecting.

A group of teenagers allegedly broke in The Native Roots Dispensary in Colorado Springs by driving a stolen van directly into the buildings, as per a High Times report.

The thieves made their way into the dispensary, stealing the display jars and a couple of t shirts.

Unfortunately for the thieves, the display jars were full of oregano.

While the teenagers didn’t get into the locked flower room, the damaged storefront is expected to cost the dispensary thousands of dollars in repairs.
