Castillo Copper downhole surveys target additional massive sulphides

Data from the surveys will be modelled to form massive sulphide targets.

Castillo Copper Ltd (ASX:CCZ) is progressing downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys aimed at detecting massive sulphide targets within its Cangai Copper Project in northern New South Wales.

The surveys are attempting to identify accumulations of potential massive sulphide mineralisation at depth that are external to the known line of lode.

For Volkhardts lode, the data collected so far has been passed to a specialist consultant who will 3D model the inputs for greater clarity.

RESEARCH REPORT: Castillo Copper Limited - Demarcation point

Castillo Copper’s Chairman Peter Meagher commented: “Our geology and drilling teams have done a tremendous job uncovering significant intersections of high-grade shallow massive sulphide mineralisation at Cangai.

“The next task is to demonstrate the project is scalable, which is where the importance of utilising DHEM surveys comes into play.

“This technology can identify accumulations of massive sulphides at depth and ultimately the primary source.

“Given the evidence drilling has unearthed to date, we are optimistic that DHEM surveys will uncover significant conductors which can be diamond drilled to further enhance our understanding of the orebody at Cangai.”

Having recently discovered high-grade shallow massive sulphides grading up to 10.25% copper, 6.04% zinc, 32.5 g/t silver and 1.37 g/t gold, follow-up DHEM is a key step.

Deploying DHEM surveys to identify potential conductors is important to understanding the underlying orebody at Cangai, a high-grade polymetallic mineralised system.

DHEM survey continues

For the current, fully-funded campaign, the DHEM survey team are following the reverse circulation (RC) drilling crew along the line of lode, with work at Volkhardts lode now concluded.

Weather permitting, the next stops will be Mark’s then finishing up at McDonoughs lode in due course.

The survey results will be 3D modelled to identify massive sulphide targets with the plan to then diamond drill those targets.
