Aerospace and defence engineer Meggitt plc (LON:MGGT) named Louisa Burdett as its new chief financial officer, a role she will take over on a full-time basis next year as the company’s current CFO Doug Webb retires.
Burdett will succeed Webb as CFO-designate on 22 October. She will become CFO on 1 January 2019, and, at that time, will join the board as an executive director.

Burdett served as group finance director at polymer maker Victrex PLC (LON:VCT) from January 2014 until April of this year. Before that, she held CFO positions at Optos PLC and the Financial Times Group.
Webb will retire as CFO and executive director on 31 December. Burdett will work with Webb through the end of this year to ensure a smooth transition, said Meggitt.
Tony Wood, Meggitt’s chief executive, said: "I am delighted Louisa will be joining the Meggitt leadership team. She brings significant relevant financial and commercial experience to the role and I look forward to working with her.”
