The Trump administration is going to spare high-tech products from Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) such as the Apple Watch and AirPod headphones from the next round of tariffs it is slapping on Chinese products, Bloomberg New reported on Monday.
The US government is expected to release a final list of as much as US$200bn of Chinese products which will be hit with a new 10% tariff, five people familiar with the matter said, according to the report filed by the news agency.
There was no immediate comment from Apple, which recently launched its new set of iPhones and an upgraded Apple Watch that features an ECG monitor for the heart.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook had dined with Trump and the first lady, Melania Trump, in August in an apparent bid to cushion any tariff impact on Apple.
China is the second biggest market for Apple, which has been warned by state-owned Chinese media outlets it may face retailiation from an escalation in the US-China trade conflict.
Apple shares ended on Monday 2.66% lower at US$217.88. It was trading up 0.08% to US$218.05 in after-hours trade.
